Nashville Road Community Church is committed to the work of Jesus on earth. We are passionate about bringing light to the darkest corners of our world. In 2009, we started a journey with Pierre Roux and Extreme Response to help the people in a little town called Beaufort West in South Africa. Here, you will receive updates from Pierre and how you are helping transform lives in Beaufort West.

OliveTrees Update
The olive trees survived one of the harshest winters Beaufort West has experienced in a very long time. We planted 180 tree's and so far plus minus 160 trees survived. A few were eaten by some passing goats. The reason the goats got in because the gates were stolen. St Francis can't wait for you guys to come here to do the dedication of the olive tree's. The vegetable garden has come along in leaps and bounds and they are now supplying 10% of their needs. We helped a group of young people open a youth centre and they want to make there own veggie garden
Leadership Development
We have run 3 leadership development seminars in Beaufort West. 2 were on the qualifications, duties and responsibilities of elders and deacon's. All the churches were invited but only a few took the opportunity to attend. The few churches who sent their leaders really enjoyed the seminar. We had 30 people attend. The next seminar was on Love the Lord your God with all your heart, spirit, mind and soul. Again it was advertised all over but 29 people attended. I have decided that I need to get a place of my own to hold the courses and seminars because all the churches are afraid of sheep stealing. I need ideas to over come this.
We also ran a missions seminar in Hout Bay, Cape Town and we brought down 3 guys from Beaufort West to attend the 4 day seminar, thanks to NRCC. The guys really learnt a lot and left on fire. We want to put a major evangelical outreach together for July next year.

Trash Dump
The trash dump remains a cause for concern with more and more people living on the dump and bringing their children and babes along. The last team bought blankets and food for the adults. They also brought shoes and clothes for the children. NRCC continually supply medicines for the people on the dump. It is very hard to bring the good news to the people on the dump. Every time I come here I cry. The last time I was there a guy came up to me and said don't cry they are alright. This made me even sadder. Please pray for Jesus solution.
Helping Hands
The children are doing very well and a team from Germany built on another room which has helped tremendously. We have just had a team there from California who played with the children and bought new clothes for a few of the kids. Now that they eat regularly, they are really feisty but you have to love them. They worm themselves into every ones heart. A local nurse sponsored new cups for the kids. Its a privilege to come here and tell them Biblical stories, play games with them and pray for them. When the kids see the car pull up outside the house, they come running to help carry the food in. Stoney can never say thank you enough to NRCC and she says she can't wait to meet you all and show you around and give you all a big hug. On a sad note that makes me angry, the gangs are still breaking in to steal food.
